A department in the Office of Student Activities at PCCC.
The marketing department at Passaic County Community College handles all communications and advertisements from Student Activities.
The overarching goal was to establish a marketing department that would streamline, unify, diversify, and organize communications and advertisements, with the aim of achieving effective marketing that enhances reach and retention across the organization.
She recreated the marketing approach within Student Activities. She devised new processes and procedures, established guidelines for clubs/organizations, developed evergreen templates, and implemented a system for recurring events/activities to ensure consistent workflows and streamlined marketing administration. These changes were not only intended to simplify and unify communication processes, but also to enhance the experience for both users and employees.
She launched their social media platform, devised and executed a strategy to boost their follower count and raise awareness for the organization. Additionally, she took charge of planning and producing campaigns and graphics. She was also responsible for curating content for email marketing, managing bulletin boards, overseeing design and print tasks, and establishing tabling protocols and procedures for events.
Since helping Student Activities to become more organized, and look more attractive, they grew in awareness and support by 80%. Students came to events more, they wanted to volunteer in the department, people wanted to start new clubs on campus.
There were approximately 50 bulletin boards scattered throughout the school. The Student Activities department required a new system to oversee, manage, and maintain all these bulletin boards, ensuring they remained clean and displayed weekly school updates. Moreover, they aimed to revamp and theme the main department bulletin boards on an annual basis (see below).
She devised a blueprint of the entire school to pinpoint the locations of all bulletin boards. Subsequently, she established maintenance protocols and guidelines, which she imparted to the Panther Promoters, a marketing team she supervised. Regarding the department’s primary bulletin board project, she assumed a leadership role. She conceived the concept, selected materials, and directed a team to implement the design.
